About Active Herts

Active Herts is a project to help inactive people take their first step to a more active lifestyle. We know that getting active can be difficult which is why we provide local, friendly and professional support through our team of Get Active Specialists.

Each Get Active Specialist is highly qualified and experienced in helping people to improve their health and wellbeing through behaviour change techniques.

Who funds us?

Active Herts is funded by Sport England, Hertfordshire Public Health, East and North Herts Clinical Commissioning Group, Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group and Broxbourne Borough Council. Sport England alongside others partners want to drive a step change in the public’s health. Tackling inactivity is a key part of making this step change to reduce the burden of preventable death, disease and disability, and support people and their communities to achieve their full potential.

As the principal funder Sport England’s aspiration is to get more people participating in sport once a week. Locally, Active Herts provides a real opportunity to make a different to the lives of local people.
