Level 3 Exercise Referral Instructor
Level 3 Personal Trainer
Level 3 Pilates Instructor

What you enjoy most about your job:

I find it immensely satisfying helping clients to achieve their goals and watch them progress along their journey. I have met some fantastic people through my work, and have even helped inspire a couple of my clients to retrain as fitness professionals as they have found a new lease of life through health and fitness. I look forward to helping many more people through the Active Herts programme.

Your experience:

I have spent the past few years working in gyms and specialising in rehabilitation for people recovering from injury or with illnesses, including stroke, heart attack and long term mental health conditions. It is a real passion of mine to help people with their recovery and also to promote a healthy lifestyle for all individuals.

How you like to keep active:

I teach various classes throughout the week including Pilates, Circuits and TRX which helps to keep me fit, and I then do my own personal weight training several times a week as well. I also have a large dog, Lola the German Shepherd who requires a lot of walking so I get a good, long walk every day, rain or shine!

Level 2 Fitness Instructor
Level 3 Exercise Referral Instructor
Level 3 Personal Trainer & Sports Massage
Level 3 Exercise and Older Adults
Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes Consultant

What you enjoy most about your job:

My job enables me to help people live longer, happier and healthier lives and I find that very satisfying. Witnessing the increase in self- esteem and confidence that people can gain from exercising is the most rewarding part of my job and I feel lucky to be part of the Active Herts project that is already changing lives for the better.

Your experience:

I have over 10 years’ experience in the Health and Fitness industry and have worked as a Fitness Manager, Personal Trainer and Coach on an Exercise Referral programme that enabled me to train clients of all ages with a variety of health conditions and fitness levels. People are often worried that they will be unable to exercise and my experience enables me to find suitable activities for those that haven’t exercised for a long time as well as those returning to exercise after some time off.

How you like to keep active:

Most of my activity is based around running. I love to enter one of the 5k park runs once a month that are held all over the country and like the fact that it caters for all abilities from walkers to serious runners. I also enjoy swimming and weight training from time to time for a bit of variety. If I’m in the mood for something a bit easier, I’ll go for a walk through the local nature reserve and enjoy making the most of living so close to the countryside.
